Privacy Policy Terms of Service

SmartFlashlight ("the app", "we", "us") is a flashlight, strobe, SOS signal, and screen-light utility. This policy explains what information the app accesses, why, and where it goes. In short: the app does not have accounts, does not run its own servers, and does not sell your data. The only outside party involved is Google, through the ads that keep the app free.

Information the app does not collect

SmartFlashlight does not ask for your name, email, or phone number, and there is no sign-up or login. The app does not access your camera roll, contacts, or location, and it never takes photos or video — the camera is used only to switch its LED on and off to produce light.

What the app accesses on your device, and why

Settings storage

Preferences such as your default mode or whether shake-to-toggle is on are saved locally on your device using standard app storage. This information stays on your phone, is not linked to your identity, and is not visible to us. Uninstalling the app removes it.

Advertising

SmartFlashlight is free to use and shows banner ads through Google AdMob. To do this, AdMob and Google may collect device identifiers (such as your advertising ID), general device information, and approximate location derived from your network connection, and may use this data to serve and measure ads. We do not control this collection directly; it is governed by Google's own policies.

You can review how Google handles this data in the Google Privacy Policy, and adjust ad personalization for your device through your phone's system ad settings.

Links you open from the app

Buttons such as "Rate the app", "Send feedback", or "Privacy policy" open your browser or email app using your device's own apps. Anything you do on those external pages is covered by their own privacy policies, not this one.

Data sharing

We do not sell your information. The only third party involved in the app is Google, for the reason described above under Advertising.

Children's privacy

SmartFlashlight is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.

Data retention and your choices

Because settings are stored only on your device, you control them directly: clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app deletes them. You can limit ad-related data collection through your device's ad settings at any time.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and post the revised version on this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
