Terms of Service — SmartFlashlight

These terms cover your use of SmartFlashlight (“the app”). By installing or using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

What the app does

SmartFlashlight turns your device's camera LED and screen into a flashlight, with strobe, SOS signal, screen-light, and color-light modes, plus a battery indicator and optional shake-to-toggle control.

License to use the app

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use SmartFlashlight on devices you own or control, for your own personal use. You may not resell the app, reverse-engineer it beyond what your local law permits, or use it to build a competing product.

Using the light responsibly

SmartFlashlight is a convenience tool, not certified safety equipment. Don't rely on it as your only light source in an emergency, and don't point the strobe or bright light modes directly at anyone's eyes, at drivers, or at pilots.

Extended use of the torch or bright screen-light modes can warm up your device and drain the battery faster than normal use.
Strobe mode flashes rapidly. If you or anyone nearby has photosensitive epilepsy, avoid strobe mode.
SOS mode is a visual signal aid only; it does not contact emergency services on its own.
Disco Light uses rapid flashing and color changes reacting to sound, which carries the same photosensitivity risk as strobe mode.

Advertising

The app is funded by banner ads served through Google AdMob. Ads are provided by Google and its advertising partners; we aren't responsible for the content of individual ads. See our Privacy Policy for how ad data is handled.

Your content and data

The app doesn't require an account and stores your preferences locally on your device, as described in the Privacy Policy. You're responsible for your own device and for keeping it updated and secure.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the app to violate any law, to harass or endanger others, or to interfere with the app's normal operation on your device.

No warranty

The app is provided "as is." We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device or Android/iOS version, and we don't warrant that any particular light mode is fit for a specific safety or professional purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including device heating, battery wear, or missed emergency signaling. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

Changes to the app or these terms

We may update the app or these terms over time. If we make a material change to these terms, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the revised terms.

Termination

You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We may discontinue or change the app at our discretion.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of your place of residence to the extent your local consumer-protection law requires, and otherwise by the laws applicable to the app's publisher.
